DIY Dry Shampoo

dry shampoo

Have you ever used a dry shampoo before? I love dry shampoo because I don’t wash my hair everyday, so I am able to get away with dirty hair but not have it look greasy. The aerosol sprays can make your hair staticky and sometimes don’t work that well so instead of spending the money on a product you may not even love, make some from household items!
AND chemical free!! WOOHOO!!

What you need:

1/3 cup of cocoa powder (if you have dark colored hair)
2 tablespoons of corn starch
1 tablespoon of baking soda
Container with a lid or a spice shaker (cleaned out spice jar or salt shaker)
Blush brush

If you have blonde hair, leave out the cocoa powder, or just try mixing in a small amount.

Super simple, just mix all of it together 🙂 I put mine on with a blush brush by dipping it into the mixture, tapping off the excess and tapped it onto my roots. I rubbed it in with my hands, then combed through. I think a shaker would be easier and quicker but I didn’t have one. Either way, this is a great alternative to the sprays!
